[WLUG] iOS and Linux

I have full access (I believe) to my iphone 3gs (iOS 6.1.6) with Linux 
Mint 15 if, and only if, it is connected during boot. If I connect it 
later I have no access. Linux Mint (Ubuntu) only loads the modules if 
needed and only during cold boot.
