Why am I getting spam from a mailing list I never subscribed 
to, and populated by a nasty person who thinks ultimatums with 
drop dead dates are useful?

This seems to have been sent by someone who wants to run a 
LUG.  LUGs are 'social voluntary' non-profits, usually for 
advocacy of Linux

This post and this thread is about as far from inviting as 
I've ever seen
